Tech Trek is an interactive exploration of Washtenaw County’s tech ecosystem geared toward job seekers, families, and tech enthusiasts. Annually, Ann Arbor SPARK holds this public event to celebrate the region’s innovation. This event is one-part street fair and one-part explorative experience with company open house activations!

On May 7, Ann Arbor SPARK hosted a kick-off webinar for companies interested in participating in this year’s Tech Trek (10/3). We walked through the timeline, goals and expectations, and revealed innovations for 2025. Please watch this webinar if you are a Washtenaw County-based tech company, student STEAM internship or summer program, or a Michigan college department. This is a great opportunity to hear from SPARK staff and returning companies as they share their tips and tricks for success and making the most of this year’s Tech Trek experience. If you are thinking about participating this year, some things you can think about during the webinar include:

  • Who from your company/organization will be involved in planning your participation?
  • What product or demonstration will best represent your company/organization?
  • What might you showcase or have at the booth that sets you apart?

a2Tech360 is Ann Arbor’s tech event series organized by Ann Arbor SPARK. It takes a 360-degree look at Washtenaw County’s tech ecosystem. While SPARK hosts signature events, partner events are a cornerstone of a2Tech360—they bring fresh ideas, diverse voices, and new energy into the mix. Whether you’re hosting a workshop, panel, demo, or something entirely unexpected, these events help shape the inclusive, collaborative spirit that defines a2Tech360.

On Thursday, May 15, Ann Arbor SPARK hosted a kick-off webinar for organizations interested in hosting an a2Tech360 partner event. This recording is a valuable chance to learn from past a2Tech360 partner event hosts, exchange ideas, and find inspiration to craft your unique event. Partner events are hosted and paid for by external organizations/companies and take place in Washtenaw County during a2Tech360 (9/24 – 10/3). Each event creatively delves into one or more of the 4 following categories in relation to the local tech community:

  • Science (STEM)
  • Art (Marketing/Design)
  • Capital (Business/Investor Relations) and
  • People (social life, local policies, workplace experiences, etc.).

If you are thinking about participating this year, a few things to start considering:

  • Who is your ideal audience?
  • What kind of experience will you create? (speakers, panels, networking, hands-on fun)
  • Where will it take place
